Is Stake legal and licensed in Ontario?
Stake.com does not offer an Ontario-regulated product, and its own rules prohibit Ontario use.
The iGaming Ontario directory is the public record of gaming sites offered by locally regulated operators. Stake does not appear in that directory. Its terms instead identify the operator as Medium Rare N.V., licensed by the Curaçao Gaming Authority.
A Curaçao licence does not equal AGCO registration or an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario. More importantly, Stake’s jurisdiction clause specifically lists Ontario among the places whose residents and visitors cannot use the real-money service.
This is not a grey login question.
Ontario is named in Stake’s Prohibited Jurisdictions. A page loading or an old account existing does not change that contract term.
Stake login and existing accounts in Ontario
Technical access is not permission to deposit, wager or use location-masking tools.
Stake’s terms extend the restriction to both Ontario residents and anyone physically located in the province. They also say that an attempt to manipulate location information, including through a VPN or proxy, breaches the agreement.
If you already hold a Stake account and move or travel to Ontario, stop using it for real-money play. For a balance or access question, contact the operator through its published support route. Do not create a second account, enter a false address or ask another person to access the account.
Crypto, fiat, KYC and withdrawals
Stake’s global cashier rules explain the platform, but they do not create an Ontario exception.
Network details matter
Asset, network, address and minimum must match. Transfers to the wrong network may not be recoverable.
Identity and location
Stake may request KYC and restrict payments or withdrawals until identity and location are established.
Deposit wagering rule
Stake’s terms require 100% of a fiat or crypto deposit to be wagered before a withdrawal request.
The terms also require the deposit and withdrawal methods to belong to the account holder. Additional due diligence, source-of-funds information or an account investigation can delay a withdrawal. None of these conditions should be tested from a prohibited jurisdiction.
Casino, sportsbook and Stake Ontario bonuses
A global product catalogue is not an Ontario offer.
Stake is known for casino games, Originals, live casino, sports betting and crypto balances. Those features may explain why people search for Stake Ontario, but product popularity does not override regional rules.
There is no valid basis for advertising a “Stake Ontario bonus” when Stake.com prohibits Ontario use. Stake’s general promotion terms also make bonuses discretionary and subject to eligibility, expiry, account limits and anti-abuse rules. Do not follow a bonus link that claims to unlock Stake.com for Ontario.
