The answer is transitional, not a simple yes or no. New Zealand's Online Casino Gambling Act 2026 is in force, but licences are not expected until early 2027. Until 1 December 2026, only providers already serving New Zealand before 1 May may continue, without advertising. We found no official evidence confirming RainBet's eligibility.

No New Zealand online casino licences have been issued yet, according to DIA's current customer guidance. RainBet states that RBGAMING N.V. is licensed in Anjouan. That is not a New Zealand licence, and it does not prove eligibility for the transitional regime.

New Zealand is not listed among the restricted countries in the RainBet terms we reviewed. However, a provider may continue during the present window only if it served New Zealand before 1 May 2026. RainBet's public terms do not establish that historical fact, so its local status remains unverified.

DIA says only operators that earn the right to apply for one of up to 15 licences and submit an application may continue under an exemption while assessed. Other online casinos must leave the New Zealand market. The full licensed regime is expected during 2027.

DIA plans to publish a public register after licences begin to issue. Licensed casinos will also need to display a unique registration icon. Until that system exists, do not treat a logo, NZD balance, local wording or payment option as official confirmation.

RainBet's terms mention government photo ID, a selfie holding the ID, and a recent bank statement or utility bill. Users may have 72 hours to complete a request and analysis may take up to seven business days. Withdrawals cannot be completed while the account is temporarily approved.

RainBet states a minimum of USD 15 or the equivalent. Identity checks may occur before payment, and funds are normally returned to the original method. The minimum does not guarantee approval, timing or New Zealand consumer protection.

Do not deposit more. Save the request and all account records, then ask in writing for the reason, clause, missing documents and decision date. Contact your bank, card issuer or exchange about valid dispute options. Never share passwords, two-factor codes or a wallet seed phrase.

Treat casino and sports products separately. DIA says that from 28 June 2025 online racing and sports betting is prohibited unless operated by New Zealand's domestic provider TAB NZ, including its Betcha brand. The new online casino regime does not alter that restriction.
